I decided to quit my job. I told my kids I had a new job. They all looked at me with sad faces and said “so we won’t see you as much?” I said No, but I’m not going to do for you what you can do for yourself anymore. AND I’m not going to yell. What I told myself is I quit as “Slave to My Children.” I amno longer going to do for them what they can do for themselves. OOOOH BOY this is a fun pattern to Break!! But my mentor Crystal Davis has taught me this very principle. TODAY I am continuing to help J (my 11 yr old) to learn how to choose more happiness in his life. He is struggling with his morning routine and even had to catch the bus without breakfast this morning. (GASP) Food to this kid is a SERIOUS ISSUE. AND he was not happy. He is settling into FULL MARTYR MODE. But I’m holding to the vision. MY KIDS CAN TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES! I love them, I support them emotionally and I make sure they know that they are safe. I’m not going to BITE for the puppy dog eyes.
